Having Your Wedding and Not Breaking the Bank!

Weddings happen no matter what the current economic picture is in the world and it is possible to have the wedding you've always dreamed of and keep it within the budget you have.

Planning is the most important ingredient to a successful wedding no matter what the budget.

Your Engaged! Having a discussion with whomever is financing the event is the first priority. Discuss the type of wedding you would ultimately like to have and the number of guests you wish to invite. Remember flexibility is extremely important. At the end of the day you will be just as married whether you stand in front of a justice of the peace in a private ceremony or have a large church affair. The choice is up to you.

What is "Out" For 2009 Weddings

Weddings are a funny thing; one year a trend can be red hot, and the next year, it suddenly seems overdone, out of style, or simply "so last year". Naturally, brides want to avoid any of these things that will make their weddings feel out of place or cliché! With that in mind, these are some of the wedding trends that are out of fashion for 2009.

Colors go in and out of fashion for weddings just as they do for clothing each year. What often ends up happening is that an idea for a color palette gets more and more popular over a couple of wedding seasons, until suddenly it reaches a tipping point and it feels unoriginal and boring, instead of fresh and sophisticated.

A few years ago, this happened to sage green, and now the same thing has happened to pink and espresso or Tiffany blue for wedding colors. As pretty as these colors are, everyone is tired of looking at them! The hottest colors for weddings this year include combinations like lime and tangerine or cherry and lime. When in doubt, you can also choose to go with the one wedding color that is never out of style: white.

What's Really Important For Your Wedding Reception

While you may have dreamed as a girl, of arriving in a horse drawn carriage (okay, that's a bit extravagant- so, a white stretch limo), butterflies or doves released at your reception, a groom's cake, or fancy little favors for your guests to carry home, now that your wedding day is here, it's time to get real about where to spend your money.

Begin by understanding clearly what's truly important about your day. You are affirming your commitment to each other and celebrating the start of your new life together (hopefully, you will only do this once in your life), and have invited those you most care about to join you in the affirmation and celebration.

Secondly, spend time together setting an intention for your celebration. I highly recommend that brides and grooms- to- be work on this together. It may be the first major project you'll work on as a team, and will create a bonding, and no doubt, educational experience for you. As a practical matter, it'll also better prepare you to deal with your various wedding vendors, saving time, possibly money, and wear and tear on everyone involved, if you are on clearly the same page from the beginning.
